In a couple of weeks, we’ll finally be playing a Warhammer game again, and my gaming partner has now built his Chaos army up to over 1,500 points… I’ll have to keep up, even though I’m really slow at painting by comparison.
During the last game, I particularly noticed that the Swordmasters really suffered from the unit’s small size of just 10 models. They can’t take much damage anyway, and probably need to deal as much damage as possible right from the first round of combat.
That’s why I’ve now painted another 5 Swordmasters, in the hope that with the 3rd rank, the extra attacks and, better survivability, they’ll make a bit more of an impact.
I love these models so much, absolutely fantastic sculpts. But painting them is a real slog, it just takes ages. I’m really glad every time I have finished some elves!
Next will probably be the unfortunate Ellyrian Reavers that are still only half painted... It's a sad story and I won't repeat it here (but they are just 10 times worse to paint than the Swordmasters!!).
Let's see how that will go, and there's also an eagle on my desk right now.
